Map of Cambridge's parks and commercial districtThe Economic Development Department is responsible for attracting businesses to the community, retaining existing business and assisting businesses in enabling the rehabilitation and redevelopment of areas within the community. The Department also provides support to the Cambridge Economic Development Authority (EDA). The EDA is the decision making body when it comes to economic development. The EDA is made up of City Council members.

The City of Cambridge has many opportunities for commercial and industrial companies that may wish to locate in our city. Cambridge is the closest city to the Twin Cities with JOBZ Tax Free Development Subzones. Cambridge has 126 acres in four different Subzones. The largest Subzone is the Cambridge Opportunity Industrial Park. This 102 acre site is located north of Minnesota Route 95 and east of Minnesota Route 65.
